KANSAS CIGAR SMOKERS:
As most of you know by now the State of Kansas has passed a statewide smoking ban. Below is a list of how your Representatives voted. I hope that you and your cigar friends will take the time to contact those that supposedly represent you in Topeka. It's clear to me in this piece of legislation they failed to represent you and me fairly.
Contact your House Members now!
WICHITA CIGAR SMOKERS:
As Wichitans you know that we had a great ordinance in place for us to smoke in a few public places that private business owners decided on. This new ban takes a lot away from you and me. If any of you have attended my annual benefit cigar dinner than you should also know that this great event did not receive an exemption in the current ban. Interesting though, how State owned casinos, class A and B clubs and of all places, nursing homes were given exemptions. Therefore, no more benefit dinners at the Hilton, at least with cigars. As a supporter of Holy-Smoke I am asking you to do two things in contacting people. First, contact the Wichita Representatives that voted yes for this ban and express you disapproval of their vote, especially since it did not grant my dinner event an exemption. In addition to them, contact your City Council members and ask them to voice their disapproval after all the hard work they put into making a smoking ordinance that was really accomplishing some good on both sides of the issue.
