Excalibur No. 1
I have just finished one of the cigars I smoke most often, an Excalibur No. 1.
I like this cigar for several reasons. First of all its size. The ring gauge is 54 (nice for us big guys if you know what I mean. In fact, I shouldn't admit this, but that's my current waist size, but it's coming down!) It is just over seven inches in length so it's known as a Double Corona. It is made with tobacco from four places. The filler is Honduran, Nicaraguan and Dominican. The binder is Dominican and the wrapper is Connecticut Shade from the good old U.S.A.
I have always liked big cigars. I have found over the years that they offer the fullest flavor and really capture the blend that is used in the cigar.
The second thing I like about the Excalibur No. 1 is the durability. Obviously I think it is well made. Sometimes I can get rough with my cigar by holding it in my mouth too long. This thing always seems to hold up well when I tend to bite down on it.
Thirdly, I like the taste of it. I can't explain to you why. I can't tell you what the exact flavors are in it. For whatever reason, it is always a welcome flavor on the old palate and taste buds.
Lastly, it is well priced. I think one gets great value with a cigar like this. Excalibur cigars are made in Honduras and imported by Villazon.
Next time you have a chance, give one a try.
